V for Vendetta

Just finished watching V for Vendetta, great movie. It's hard to believe the plot originated from a comic book series, it reads nothing like other comic book movies. Belongs next to 1984 and Brave New World, Matrix too.
Funny to mention the Matrix, the script was adpted by the same guys that did the Matrix, furthermore the big vilaine in the matrix series sudenly stars as the hero here (coincidence?)
Anyway, the plot is the typical dictatership controled state full of desporation, suffering and mind control. The interesting thing here is that the state controls by manipulating the tool of religion. Anyone can see the way this speaks to today's society. The message is clear enough- seperate religion from politics. But more subtly there is the message to seperate science from politics and science from religion (along with destoring religion as a whole.
